You never know the impact you can have on others and on the world. This quote is from Fight Song, a song that came out recently with a layered message of inspiration. Simply put, if you have limited resources, try to strategically plan what you are going to do so that you can make the most out of what you have to work with. Lighting a match doesn’t create a very big fire (or explosion), but if you use that match to set fire to something (kind of like an investment) you can create a much bigger flame. This can also be considered as a ripple effect. By doing one thing, like lighting a match, you can set the stage for another thing to occur as a result, like an explosion. For example, you can do something as simple as open a door for someone and cause a ripple effect of positivity as that someone in turn opens the door for the next person, and so on, and so on. Eventually, the people involved in this positive ripple feel a little bit better and are a little bit friendlier as they go about their day, resulting in more positive energy being shared between strangers. Consequently, that little gesture affected many people throughout the day and set into motion more ripples, which in turn influence even more people. It is a never-ending cycle that one good deed can begin. The same is true on the other side of the spectrum. One negative action can ruin someone’s day causing them to be less patient with others and resulting in sensitive issues being handled less delicately by everyone involved. This, of course, would only cause people affected by the negativity to in turn be rude to others not involved and pass the negativity on as the day goes by. We all influence each other so make sure that the energy we are sharing is patient and caring and maybe together we can make a positive explosion in the world.
