EXCEL AT A GLANCE; 5/24/2019 – 5/30/19

Published Friday, May 24, 2019 by Tifinie

June is just around the corner and it’s bringing summer with it!  Congratulations to all of you high school students for making it through another year of school!  Don’t stop your momentum now, use your summer to get ahead and be that much more prepared for everything coming in the fall.

For the juniors and seniors out there, try taking some AP courses in the fall, that will show colleges that you are ready for the next step in your education.  Be prepared for next year by planning now.  The summer is when students have the most free time to really focus on getting a plan established for the next year because within the blink of an eye, the next school year will already have begun and the time to plan will have passed.  By all means, enjoy some of your summer break, but also keep in mind that as an adult you won’t get a 3-month break every year so you might want to consider using your time more wisely as you approach adulthood.  Consider getting a job to gain work experience or volunteer for some community service to give back to others.  Colleges like to see students pushing themselves in areas outside of the classroom as well.  Maybe get a couple of friends and sign up for an art class at the community college or start a blog on social media and give a cause a voice.  Use this summer to do more than just sit around your house with your eyes stuck on your phone.  Discover more about yourself and the world around you by experiencing it!  Create a goal to do something BIG this summer and then achieve it!

High school students:  Sign up for our upcoming SAT, ACT, and SAT Subject courses!  We are offering a variety of courses this summer that will help you increase your college admission test scores.  This is your last chance to start preparing for the fall exams!

Our SAT and ACT classroom courses are generally 4 weeks long and come with bonus services for students to use to continue to practice and study even after their course has ended.  Students who take an SAT or ACT course get 6 months of access to our Exam Club library, which is full of practice tests, for free.  Students who take our 4-week SAT course are guaranteed to increase their score by 200 points or more!  Our SAT course (only) also includes 6 group tutorial sessions that are available after the course is over.  Each group tutorial session focuses on one topic of either reading, writing, or math and students can choose which tutorials they want to sign up for based on their individual needs.

Excel also offers a special 6-week course during the summer break for students who are looking for something extra.  This intensive course comes with a 300-point score increase guarantee as well as offering 3 times as many practice exams during the course as our 4-week program!  If you are interested in our popular Summer Intensive SAT Prep Course, be sure to register as soon as you can as the seats are filling up fast!  Classes begin in June!  Click here for more information about our 6-weeks-long Summer Intensive Course.

Remember, our SAT and ACT courses are about 4 weeks long, but we offer 6 months of additional services for students to use as tools after their course has ended.  To get the most out of your course, be sure to schedule your course with enough time to take advantage of these opportunities!  Call our office for more details!

We are confident that our courses will increase your test scores!  So confident, in fact, that our courses are guaranteed to increase your scores (or help you pass) or you can take a score-improvement course for free.  Click here for more details.

Curious how you would score on a practice SAT or ACT test?  Take one of our FREE diagnostic tests and see how you would score.  You may be weaker on one test and decide to take a prep course to increase those skills, which we can also help you with!  The diagnostic exam is the first administered practice test and will score your math, reading, and writing skills (as well as science skills in the ACT).   Call our office at (510)490-7000 and speak with our friendly staff to register for FREE diagnostic exams.  Summer diagnostic test dates are as follows:
